V470 Mouse - Detection of Service Failed

I have read all postings about this mouse.  I don't see the same exact problem I am having.  Some similarities to others in that it worked fine for a few days and then quit.  I have Win 7.  I uninstalled and installed Setpoint 4.80 several times.  I removed the device in device manager.  I have treid everything.  What I see is that my Bluetooth Manager tries to find the device, locates it and tries to connect, then comes back and says "Detection of service failed".  The troubleshooting I have done shows that my bluetooth driver is working fine and when I troubleshoot the bluetooth device it says it is working properly.  Yet it will not connect.  The Logitech Bluetooth Connection Assistant app file does not appear to be loaded correctly.  It has a big question mark behind the file and will not open.  This is the same everytime I uninstall and install the software.  I think that my Bluetooth Manager finds the device and cannot connect because of the Bluetooth Connection Assistant not working correctly.  I have tried everything I can think of.  When I uninstall, I make sure all Logitech files are gone before I reinstall it.  I make sure the blue light is flashiing on the mouse when I try to connect.  And I have gone to Logitech for help three times and I am not getting much info or help out of them.  I just wondered if anyone else had this same exact problem?

I guess if I can't get any help, I will try to get a refund.  And if no one has any ideas to help me solve this, does anybody know of a good bluetooth capable wireless mouse that is not Logitech that I can buy?

At my wit's end.

Which Bluetooth device are you using and what Bluetooth stack (software) is bundled with it?

While I have not encountered this with a mouse since I do not have a Bluetooth mouse, I have had devices such as headsets and phones that will NOT work with the default Windows stacks on XP.

It would be my assumption the mouse comes with a receiver, but just double checking.

Re: V470 Mouse - Detection of Service Failed

I have a V470 Blutetooth Wireless Mouse and my laptop has Bluetooth Stack for Windows by Toshiba v7.00.10T.  The odd thing is they did work together fine for a few days. After I applied an upgrade from Toshiba to my laptop and rebooted, the mouse no longer worked.  That is when I went thru all the steps I mentioned before.  Nothing will allow me to reconnect this mouse now.  From what I can see the bluetooth software if working okay.  Just does not make any sense.

Re: V470 Mouse - Detection of Service Failed

If you're new to bluetooth I can understand why.  Bluetooth is very finicky when it comes to how it works.  The first solution is to open up the Toshiba Stack and make sure the HID or mouse services are working.  But since I don't use it I (nor is the Toshiba recent) I am not sure how to help.  I can look over it to see what I can do, though.  It could of been turned off or something.

The issue doesn't sound hardware related (as services are on the computer), hm..,
