Also, I've noticed several bugs:
Cordless Desktop Wave:
Under Advanced Settings there's a checkbox for Enable pre defined application-pecific button settings. However, there's no configuration button, therefore no way to actually use this feature. (Note: this bug doesn't occur with the MX 5500 Revolution)
The Zoom in/out buttons don't do anything. (Note: This bug doesn't occur with the MX 6600 Revolution).
Cordless Desktop MX 5500 Revolution:
The bug with above isn't there, but there is no PC to keyboard communication for the keyboard's LCD:
- Time/Date is never set
- Media playback never updated
- Favorites programming works, but program name never updated on LCD
The default press thumb wheel for documentflip initiates the flip3D, but pressing it again does not select the topmost windows. You need to left-click with the mouse to select the window. Also, document flip from the mouse interferes with document flip from the keyboard, so once you initiate from the mouse, the keyboard button no longer works. (note: this bug doesn't happen with the Cordless Desktop Wave).

Hi from Berlin,
I'm using an LX 700 keyboard and a Cordless Optical Trackman. Both worked fine with SetPoint 4.8 and - after setting everything up again - work fine with SetPoint 6.0, too.
I updated because I was hoping to see a some new features (e.g. the ability to disable the caps lock, which is possible on my Logitech EasyCall desktop), but I was disappointed. The changes - at least for my equipment - are merely cosmetic and include, IMHO, a MAJOR step backward.
The download and installation worked fine, though I had to turn off my Kaspersky Internet Security (v. 9.0.0.736) in order to for the installation to complete.
The smaller download and installation are OK, and the new interface looks a bit slicker I guess, but one the MAJOR feature that's been removed, and which is probably going to get me back to v. 4.8, is the fact that the on-screen-text name of the programs I've configured to work with the F-keys and some others no longer appear. The only "status indicators" that appear are the caplock on/off, numberlock on/off, and the volume change.
Given that v.6.0 blends in a new-look on-screen message (a little black, semi-transparent window that admittedly looks nicer than the ugly, neon-green letters of the past), I guess I can understand why the function has been eliminated from a programming point of view (though I s'pose good programmers -given enough money - can do anything), but it would have been nice if the download notes had mentioned that this function has been removed.
As I've indicated, I'm not 100% sure whether it's worth setting everything up again to go back to 4.8, but for most people using older Logitech equipment, if everything's working OK, I can't really recommend the hassle of going through the update.

I was using SetPoint 4.80 with a RX300 mouse and an Internet Keyboard (both corded).
There wasn't any major issue, but from time to time I had to reinstall SetPoint because the special keys on the keyboard were not working anymore; another issue was that every now and then the mouse and keyboard did not respond anymore after resuming from hibernation (in these cases I had to power cycle the system).
So I installed SetPoint 6 to see if it fixed these minor issues.
I uninstalled SetPoint 4.80 completely and rebooted before installing v6.
Now I have a real problem with the mouse.
The mouse is detected correctly as a RX300, but the scroller wheel button actions don't work (no matter what actions I choose for the middle mouse click and the horizontal scrolling, they don't work).
Thus, I've lost the ability to zoom, autoscroll, scroll horizontally etc.
Is this a bug or is it just that v6 does not support the RX300?
Thanks
EDIT: both the keyboard and the mouse are attached to PS/2, so I installed the driver from within SetPoint to have them detected.

I like some of the changes in this driver version. I see they added the cruise up/down option for button remapping for the MX 518. However, cruise acceleration is still missing from the driver. It's a really useful feature for the MX 518 since it lacks the hyper-scroll wheel. The last driver that still had cruise acceleration present was 4.40. I hope they return it in the future.

I have just installed it here with a Performance MX and, although lighter, cannot believe some of the things that happened:
- I have working internet connection and it says it cannot connect anywhere, I guess that's why my mouse image is a generic one
- No way to customize the wheel sensitivity settings per application. I cannot believe that was taken out in this version, I honestly hope it might be related to the issue above. Is anyone able to customize that?
The only options I see when going to the Advanced Settings is button customization, nothing related to the wheel!

Although the new 'Unifying' software correctly identifies my Performance MX, it doesn't detect the on-off for pairing, but it shows it's there. Setpoint doesn't function at all. I have no Setpoint tab in mouse properties, no tray icon and no Start Menu shortcuts. There is no 'Setpoint.exe' in the program folder. Reinstalling, rebooting etc don't help (W7 64 bit i7 system). 4.80 worked fine

Oh my god. What a disaster v6 is. I never thought I would say this but I have gone back to v4.80.
Visual issues, text cut off and could not resize window.
Unable to configure my wheel per application like I could in v4.80
Could not change options (clicks would do nothing except not responding appear in the title bar) and when I could change them they would not stick.
I am staggered at how a company that makes the best mice (IMHO) makes consitently poor software to go with them.
