Re: Forum Format

Yea I notice you can't even tell what the solution is unless you click on the view Solution Link.

Also you can't tell where kudos have been given.  I've had 6 kudos in the last days and i don't know what for.

[ Edited ]

CAN SOMEBODY FROM LOGITECH PLEASE OFFER US SOME EXPLANATION OF WHAT IS GOING ON HERE WITH THE FORUM SITE?  Unless I have missed it, I can't see any response yet.  MAYBE ITS THE LOGITECH ANNUAL HOLIDAY CAMP THIS WEEK?????  :smileyvery-happy:

I can't even see when there are new unread postings any more without going into the area.

Re: Forum Format

Where on earth did Logitech find a baby to produce this horrible forum lay-out? A white background with very small, almost white letters?

I really can't believe this is a site of a serious company! Or is this the way to diminish the number of active posters and postings?

Anyway: as long as it stays like this, I am out of here. And that also means no more betatesting, as a forum is essential to that.

Bye!

Re: Forum Format

I too can't read the forum in their current layout. I'll check by to reload the page and see when the format becomes readable again.

Re: Forum Format

Increasing the text size almost makes the forum usable, but it is still causing physical pain.

My list of problems:

1. White background is blinding

2. Tiny light-colored text is painful to read

3. No borders between elements makes it hard to find things

4. Subjects are chopped-off with "..." added

5. No more automatic conversion of line-breaks in HTML view. All my links end up on one line. I wouldn't be surprised if this list ends-up on one line. EDIT: Yes, it did. If Rich Text view is going to be required for any sensible posting, make it default. (Maybe I could, when the preferences page actually worked?

5.5. The preferences page doesn't work.

6. Pages often time-out or load garbage (did we switch to a smaller web server that can't handle it? Just paging around the site I have to re-load every few pages to get them to load, or they come up as partially-downloaded HTML code).

7. (existing problem from before) Fixed-width of page means I get no use out of half of my 24" wide-screen monitor. Please use % widths instead of fixed pixel.

8. I'd much prefer white/light text on black/dark background. Why can't the forum skin be selected?

I happened to have a tab still loaded with the old layout, so I took a screenshot to compare.

9. The Insert Image button just got me an "An Unexpected Error has occurred."page

Here are the screenshots for others to compare:

Re: Forum Format

Would really like too know who thought this was a good idea. First time I came here after the change it almost blinded me. Thought there was something wrong with how it was being rendered in Firefox, so opened it in IE8 and it still looked the same.

Guess someone decided that the forum and the support pages needed an update for the sakwe of updating, when there was nothing wrong with the old format, at least looks-wise.

The Old had its faults but it did look something like a professional web site - what a pleasure to be reminded - thank you rlowens!

The New has lost us several regular valuable contributors - and I can't stay with it for much longer.

Re: Forum Format

I guess the new forum format went live on 9/25...here it is 7 days later and none of the preferences work.

I post on other forums that have undergone massive overhauls and if anything even close to this level of problems happened, they worked immediately on fixing them and had the fixes up in a day, 2 at most.

IMO, it's quite clear that Logitech doesn't care about these forums at all anymore
