I have the same issue. I also see it in the my windows Recording tab of the Sound window. Theres a meter that will almost always have 1 bar filled, I'm guessing the noise. Its a real pain for L4D when I want an open mice and it will always transmit because of that noise no matter how sensitive i set the mic trasmit setting in the game.

The problem is the terrible sound card on the headset. The G35 will only produce distortion free sound whilst in 16bit, 16000Hz mode. Anything higher will distort. To check this, go to windows sound properties, playback. Highlight G35 and click configure. Click on the speaker icons and you will hear a crackle. Close the config window, click on G35 again then properties. Click on advanced, then change from 44100Hz to 16000 Hz. Test again in config mode.

Bloody poor effort from Logitech, considering the $170 AUD I paid for mine. Music is terrible in 16000Hz, game audio is poor but playable @ 16000Hz. **bleep** that I have a smashing gaming rig with an expensive (And crap) headset. I play BC2 maxed 4xAA and have to put up with poxy sound :smileymad:

Hey folks, glad i found a forum about this. Also having the same problems as very 1 else, Just bought a new computer 2 days ago with the g15, g27 and the g35. Everything is brilliant apart from the g35, got the latest drivers for windows 7 64bit of the website. After 10mins of playing a game firstly (bfbc2), the sound starts to lag then stops working making my computer slow and laggy. Its a great headset when working and would love to help get it sorted as soon as possible. Would be more than willing to help ie, beta's r whatever as i aint working and am at home everyday anyway.

Out of curiosity, what computer/motherboard/chipset do you have?

I have a Dell XPS 420 with an Intel X38 chipset, and I had this problem with several brands of USB sound devices, including the Logitech G930 (which I use now) and a Griffin iMic2, and a Startech USB audio adapter. After fully reinstalling Windows and still having the problem, I bought a NEC-chipset based Rosewell USB2 PCI card, plugged the Logitech directly into it (no hubs or anything, just a USB extension cable) and I've not had the problem since.

OK, so I stuck with it as fortunately when unplugged I get no sound loss whatsoever any more. The headset is great unplugged. However, if I have to connect USB to charge, I may as well take the headset off because the dongle resets every 10-12 seconds non stop...I have Windows 7 64 bit with the latest drivers for everything including the motherboard.

Since unplugging the headset is what I bought it for in the first place, for now this is a minor annoyance as I can charge the headset when I am not using it, but that said hopefully Logitech is looking into reasons why this is happening.

If you need any information system wise, I would be glad to provide it.

Hi. I purchased a ClearChat wireless headset last December. It worked fine for a while. Then I stopped using them and the PC for a few months. I plugged them in this evening. I did not get get sound and the mic wasn't working. So after turning off my speakers (by accident) and then turning them back on the logitech headset doesn't even show up in selectable or disabled or unpluged aoftware.

In the divice manager I have a bunch on Nvidia drivers for sound but no logitech. the only logitech one apears in the USB controller area (which is the dongle and disappears when you unplug it).

the headset seems to work fine i.e turns on, mute button/light work. it connects to the dongle. The dongle light is steady when headset is on and flashes when its not.

I have win7 64x. I have all my updates. my Nvidia driver is current. the usb logitech dongle won't update. Please help. About the only new thing is I installed a 360 plug in play controller and the FFbeta.

mines kind of finicky too, i think it depends on how fast you roll it, best way to check is (assume you have the software installed), just click your speaker icon in windows task bar and then move the wheel and see if the volume goes up or down...if it doesnt then I would assume it's defective. If you just bought it I'd return it to future shop to save some time on a shipment.

unfortunately it's an issue with the ps3 that sony elected to not allow audio to be sent through USB. I don't know how your g35 worked, it really shouldn't have.

Don't know why sony did that, it was probably to save money, hopefully future versions will allow this and they learned their lesson.

Hello,

On 7/22/10, I purchased the Logitech ClearChat PC Wireless Headset. It was working fine until today, however, because the USB dongle has a fault in it. I have to position it awkwardly for it to even connect to my laptop - and even then, it will disconnect after a short time. I purchased my item from NewEgg, along with a 2 year extended warranty, yet they told me to contact Logitech, since it's still under the manufacturer's warranty. I also contacted a Logitech representative earlier, but he was of no help whatsoever. So, that brings me here.

I'd greatly appreciate it if someone could actually assist me with this, because it's consumed my entire day dealing with such a trivial matter.
