I downloaded and installed the latest version of Setpoint on Nov. 11 and my version of Spyware Doctor is also up to date but this problem continues. Can anyone explain this?

Hi, I've owned the mouse mx518 for about half a year under the operating system Vista 32 bit, absolutely no problems at all.

However, I got Home Premium 64 bit as an early Christmas present, so I did an install of that.

The mx518 works fine by default. But using the latest .exe (setpoint460) I don't get past 2% during installation and then the window dissapears, giving me an error.

I ran it with admin rights, as well as compatibility mode (XP). Nothing. Can anyone help shine some light on this? I'd like my adjustable DPI for my games ASAP.

Thanks

Hello,

I have SetPoint installed but can't seem to find a setting for this. Is there any way to disable the email button on a MX610 mouse? Outlook is not used on this machine, so accidentally pressing it causes Outlook to needlessly open and take control of the mouse/keyboard. Thanks!

-Keith

MX Revolution Document Flip problem with vista

I am using the MX Revolution laser mouse that I recently got, and I am using Windows Vista 32-bit. My SetPoint is the latest version 4.6. Whenever I try to use the document flip scroll (9) it would show up as a unicode error resulting in SetPoint closing itself. However if I program it to do another function it would STILL do document flip, though without the error message, as well as do my other programmed function. It is very wierd, in that I cannot program it to do the function ONLY and not do document flip, as well as the error message that show up if it IS programmed to do document flip. It seems as so that SetPoint script is conflicting with Vista mouse scripts. So my temporary solution now is to set it to do keystrokes but don't input any keys for it to perform document flip successfully without error message. However, I hope to program my document flip button to do something else, and only that something, so any help would be appreciated.

Another problem is that when I press the Search (4) button on my mouse, it'd always open up 2 windows of IE or Firefox, depending on which one is set as default. It should be 1, but it opens up 2, with 1 touch. I am astounded.

My problem is a wierd one, so I am not sure if any of you can understand what I am saying. I try to make my problem clear, but I fear by doing that I may have also confused some of you. If you would like to help but is confused please ask me to reiterate, as I am in a dire need fore help. Thanks in advance.

P.S. I am using S510 keyboard and mouse combo, but since my mouse isn't functioning as well as before I changed my mouse to MX Revolution, if this changes anything.

Message Edited by kalpa2004 on 11-25-2008 10:46 PM

My mouse speed slows to a crawl. If I remove the setpoint sofware, and just run off the OS settings. It doesnt do it . Everything is fine. the other problem is that I also have the diNovo Edge. If I remove the setpoint to have the mouse work like its suppost to. that means that I wont have the software for my keyboard either. any suggestions on what i can do to get this to work right?

Updated setpoint

vista 64

Before I permanently hooked up a bluetooth mighty mouse it required unplugging USB cable to restore, now if I use the Apple mouse to gain control all is good. I have three of these trackballs (dating back to the original ball with two buttons) and this is the only one that goes this - sound like conflict software??

Hello,

I just re-installed my cordless MX 1000 cordless laser mouse after a long stretch of no use. For some reason, double clicking to open files or icons does not work. Also, when I try and click on the windows "start" button, the menu flashes quickly and then goes away. I tried to change it to a "left" mouse configuration in the windows settings, ut the right button is producing the same results.

I have this connected to a laptop using a synaptic touch pad. I already re-installed those drivers, and am totally at a loss.

Any ideas?

Message Edited by NorthernWave on 11-23-2008 05:01 PM

I am experiencing an annoying issue with my MX1000. Occassionally, when I come back to the computer after it's been in screen saver mode, the mouse does not respond. I have installed the new Setpoint 4.6 for Vista 64 and it still hasn't resolved the problem. I wind up having to unplug and then replug the USB in again in order for my computer to recognize the mouse again. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Okay this is driving me up the wall. I've done everything I can think of, from installing drivers manually, to trying different things I see here on the forums to trying different drivers. Also tried unplugging and replugging in the usb receiver into different ports. The mouse works just fine with the generic Microsoft "hid compliant" driver. However, when Setpoint is installed, the mouse stops responding completely. The lights are on, the laser is visibly on, however none of the buttons work and the mouse cursor will not move on the screen. I have to manually roll back the driver to the generic Microsoft one in order for it to work correctly. I tried uninstalling Setpoint and just manually installing the driver...same problem...Same problem happened with my friends corded G5 (the blue lightning looking one).

System specs:

WinXP Pro x64

3GB RAM

8800GTS

SB X-FI

Yes I used the 64-bit version of Setpoint....heeeelllp

G9 side scroll problem

I just got my G9 to replace my old G5, but I've noticed that when I use the G9 in Excel and click right scroll (or left scroll) the spreadsheet would jump whole screen to the right (or left) (as if a "page right" key is pressed, if there is that key). This pretty much randers the side scroll useless in some apps like Excel because it's way too fast... It's perfectly fine in Firefox though.

Instead of scrolling one page at a time, the G5 scrolls 1 column at a time in Excel, which I find easier to control and more intuitive.

Does anyone have the same problem and know how I could make SetPoint 5 use G5's setting instead of the new setting? Editing a specific config file or registry?

I suppose I could program a Macro to do "Scroll Lock On, Right Arrow, Scroll Lock Off", but macros only execute once and scroll 1 column even if I hold the side scroll down, they don't repeat like when you held down a key.

Logitech, if you are reading this, please add additional "Cruise Right" and "Cruise Left" options in the next SetPoint 5.

Speaking of SetPoint 5, when will the next version be released? Can't wait!

Message Edited by fzr on 11-22-2008 01:40 AM

Message Edited by fzr on 11-23-2008 12:10 PM

Sepoint 4.6 prevents mouse recognition

Hi, I am having trouble with the latest Setpoint software.

Quick history: I upgraded my processor + RAM, flashed the BIOS and did a full format of the C drive + Reinstalled windows XP professional.

I've installed Office 2003, firewall (Zone Alarm Pro)+ antivirus (AVG, first time using this program..)

After this, I have installed Setpoint 4.6.

I am using a MX518 Gaming mouse (via USB) and a logitech mutlimedia keyboard via PS2 (The purple connection thing)

After installing the software, my mouse works fine. (Keyboard not immediately recognized, but after reboot, no problems)

However, now the problems start.

Every time I start up my PC, I have to unplug my mouse because it is non-responsive. (tracking laser is getting power, but buttons/movement has 0 effect) Afterwards, I can plug it back in and it will say "new hardware found", "your hardware is now ready for use".

I have to do this every single time I reboot/start up my computer.

I have uninstalled the software (setpoint 4.6) and started up the computer. Mouse is recognized, no problems at all.

I've switched USB ports to no avail.

I've used setpoint software for as long as I can remember on this computer and this is the first time I have had this problem.

I will try to install an older version of the software tonight, but does anyone have any ideas why this is happening?

How can I fix it?

Br. JT

MX500 Mouse driver bluescreens XP

Recently, my MX500 Optical mouse started freezing on my XP/Pro side of the machine. Sometimes the mouse would disconnect from the USB port (icon appears and disappears from taskbar), and other times I have to go unplug the mouse in order to recover.

Now I have started to blue-screen (mostly on LHidFlt2.sys) with DRIVER_UNLOADED_WITHOUT_CANCELLING_PENDING_OPERATIONS

My XP/Pro is patched with the latest patches, and I am running version 9.79 of the driver.

I've not added any hardware to the machine (an ancient Dell 8200), and the mouse appears to work well on the Linux (Fedora 9, latest kernel) side. This is an old USB 1 system.

I can go into more detail concerning hardware and software, but I've not really changed anything outside of the monthly Windows XP/Pro updates in a long long time.

Needless to say, the mouse freezes (and crawling to the back of the machine to unplug) are annoying. The blue screens are a very serious matter.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
