Clicking Issues

When I single click sometimes the mouse would double click. this does not happen every time I click but I noticed that when it does happen, the clicking malfunction will go on for 3-5 times. Another example of this issue is here: http://forums.logitech.com/logitech/board/message?board.id=hardware_mice&thread.id=8721

The solutions here do not help me and I have the latest setpoint. I've tried the mouse on other ports, and I've tried them on other computers. I also don't want to go into the mouse myself as is suggestedin the other forum post...

I'd like to request another mouse, but my PID number has been scratched off. The writing on the back is so easily scratched off... I'm afraid that this is going to be more hassle than it is worth.

I just want a solution that works Logitech... Please keep in mind that this is one of your top of the line products. I paid the money because I like things simple. Not so much for the mouse but for the service.

Please advise me on what I am to do now. And I'd like to restate that I've already tried switching ports, tried it on other computers, have the latest setpoint, no viruses, I've even reformatted. At this point I'm looking for a replacement. My PID is unreadable. I have the M/N and P/N.

Thank You

Kris

My mom's keyboard stops working occasionally since she bought this mouse and installed it. Before there were no problems with her keyboard.

It is a Compaq computer with a 3200+ AMD Sempron processor, 512 mb memory, 100 gb hard drive, keyboard is the Compaq keyboard that came with the computer.

I tried checking the interrupt request for the keyboard and mouse but could only find the IRQ for the keyboard.

Does anybody have any ideas what might be causing the keyboard to not work after the mouse was installed?

I bought this MX 620 from buy.com 3 months ago. It's been doing very good until last weekend. Now the mouse is lagging like hell, it happens every single minute, the pointer is not moving or moving very slowly, and sometimes even clicking doesn't work, I have to click 3 or 4 times for a single click to work.

I have looked for solutions on the Support section and almost every thread here (there's a similar thread here but I think it belongs to the MX Revolution) but still no luck so far.

Things that I have done:

Replaced new battery.

Installed newest version of SetPoint.

Changed the USB port.

Cleaned the surface.

SetPoint didn't work so I just removed it.

Logitech MX518 problems.

Well long story short I recently purchased a Logitech MX518 mouse and the thing works at random intervals. I can click all the time with the mouse but when I lift it off the table or use it for an extended period of time it dies out on me, I'm still able to click scroll ect.. But when it dies the pointer freezes and the red light under the mouse shuts off. Not really sure what's up with it to be honest. I have tried using the set point software that did nothing. So after an email to logitech I received a response (below) informing me to try several things after doing so still the same thing happens. I'm running vista home premium 64 bit for what it's worth. I've tried sending a few emails after getting the 1 response and it doesn't seem like anyone is responding to them. Also it seems the tech support line doesn't work? What's the deal with that? Looking for some help with this if anyone can throw me a line it would be much appreciated.

     Thanks,

     Ryan

  Tech support email:
Thank you for your e-mail. My name is Eugene and I will be assisting you with your issues
With regards to your e-mail, may I suggest you try uninstalling all Logitech keyboard software and plug your device into the computer and see if the issue persists? Without the software, your device will utilize the native drivers for the mouse.

This is to identify if the issue lies in the software or hardware.

You may also want to try switching USB ports to connect your mouse.

If all of the above does not fix the issue, please plug your device into a different system. This will re-confirm whether it is a hardware issue or not.

I look forward to your response.

If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to send me another e-mail. I will try my best to answer your questions.

Thank you for using Logitech. Have a great day ahead, Ryan.

Note: If you are using Spam Blocker tool, please turn it off or make sure that you can receive e-mail messages from “@mailca.custhelp.com”

Sincerely,

Eugene
Logitech Technical Support
www.Logitech.com/support
In United States: +1 646 454 3200
In Canada: +1 866-934-5644
Business Hours:
6:00AM - 6:00PM PST Monday - Friday
7:00AM - 5:00PM PST Saturday - Sunday

Disclaimer: Please note that your incident request has reached the AMR Email Support team.

The wheel on my VX Nano mouse does not spin like it used to. It used to spin for quite a long time when I gave it a flick (best feature ever!), now it barely scrolls half a page before stopping.

Does the wheel require regular cleaning and/or lubricating to maintain it's free-spinning action? Can it be done by the user safely without damaging the toggle between free-spin and ratched mode?

G7 batteries stopped fully charging

So I swapped out my G7 battery this morning like I always do and noticed that only 1 (the last) of the greens lights was coming on. I thought, "Okay, maybe last night the battery wasn't fully seated." So I went easy on the mouse for the rest of the day while the other battery charged up.

After ~7 hours I figured the battery should be mostly charged, so I swapped them again only to see the blinking red "low battery" light of doom after less than an hour. I decided to take a gander at the metal contacts and see if any looked out of place. Alas, both the inside of the charger and mouse look fine without any kind of black carbon build-up or anything. I thought maybe it was my USB but my mouse's signal is detected just fine. Still, I plugged in my charger and receiver again just in case.

I now have my charger on Boost (instead of Normal) and the charging light is randomly stopping intermittently. I'm thinking that the charging base might have a loose connection somewhere inside. I purchased this mouse probably only 2 years ago, but I doubt that I still have a receipt. I'm worried that if I have to contact Logitech's support they won't honor the 3 year warranty.

Has anyone else run into an issue like this? I know G7s have had battery issues in the past but I haven't read about anything like this yet.

Your help and opinions are much appreciated.

Hello,

I bought a G5 laser mouse nearly one year ago and although it is working fine most of the time, I have two problems.

The first one, which is old as it appeared directly when I plugged the mouse in for the first time, is that my computer simply refuses to boot if the mouse is plugged in before the loading of the operating system. In that case, the computer freezes on the first screen (the one allowing to enter BIOS setup), but if I plug the mouse in during or after Windows loading it works fine. I tested it with XP then regularly with my up-to-date Vista SP1 and diverse Linux Live CDs and temporary installations, in the Linux case it seems the mouse need the kernel to be loaded before it is plugged in to allow the system to boot correctly. Is there a way to solve this so that I don't need to unplug/replug the mouse at every boot? I waited before reporting it here because after all the mouse was working fine if plugged in at the right time, so it wasn't practical but not preventing the use of the mouse, so I waited to have another more important problem before registering here.

The second and more annoying problem is that during last weekend, after one afternoon of gaming, the mouse suddenly freezed for 10-20 seconds, then recovered, and freezed again one hour later, again recovering quickly. After restarting my system it worked fine and I haven't experienced the problem again as of now, but as my system haven't been up for a so long period, it isn't necessarily surprising to me, it maybe didn't had enough uptime to reproduce yet. I never had this problem before so I wonder what caused this... Can it be solved, and if yes, how please?

Thank you in advance,

Florian

PS : Please excuse any mistakes in my English, being french this is not my native language.

Hi!

I own an MX revolution mouse, and the left mouse button intermittently stops working. The right button still works when this happens, as does moving the pointer. The only way to get it to work again is to restart the computer, then it works fine again. I own a new aluminum iMac with the latest OS X and latest updates. This has been happening for the past few months. I tried to find a solution online as others have had similar problems but can't find one. Should I ask Logitech to replace the mouse, as it appears from other's discussions that this might be a hardware issue? Thanks,

train

Bad experience of using logitech mx 620 mice

I purchased my logitech mx620 about one year ago, since last four months, the single click sometime will be acted as a double click, and this phenomena is becoming more and more often, just can NOT use it anymore. I'm wondering if this can be resolved? Any suggestion? Thanks.

MX Revolution Charging Issue Making Me Crazy

OK,

I bought this Mouse about 6 months ago from best buy right...This thing is driving me absolutley insane...

I put the mouse on the charge station, and it blinks green for a few seconds, and then starts flashing Red. It did this right out of the box...and I've tried several times to get this mouse to charge...cleaned the connections, unplugged and replugged...with surge protector, without surge protector...Mouse switched on, mouse Switched off... It is rediculous because this mouse isn't cheap, and promises performance by carrying the Logitech name. I'm severly dissappointed as to how this mouse has performed so far..

I'm really happy with my G15 keyboard though...I've got the original...haha..

Anyways...Some help would be much appreciated...

G7 and mx518 wont click :(

I've had this style mouse ever since the MX500 and loved the shape. I bought a MX518 several years ago, and eventually replaced it with a G7 a little over a year ago which has been my favorite mouse to date.

About half a year ago, however, my G7's left click button stopped working properly. I will click and hold the button, but it will be glitchy like if I'm dragging and dropping something with the left click it will randomly unclick/reclick even though I still have the button held down. Sometimes it would even doubleclick even though I was just single clicking. This made using the G7 more of a pain than a pleasure, so I just went back to using my MX518 and never got around to getting the G7's problem taken care of. Now I'm having the same problem with my MX518's right click, and I think its time I find out what exactly I can do to get these mice (or at least the G7) fixed.

I have my online invoice from newegg for the G7 (bought it 3/2007) but I can't even remember where I bought the MX518 from. Is it possible for me to return one or both of these mice to be fixed? Are either of them still under warranty?

Thanks,

Chris

MX Revolution Losing Programmed Button Functions

I've been using my MX Revolution for over a year without problems, but now all of a sudden the non-traditional programmable mouse buttons are not registering. I use the thumb wheel for the media functions and I don't use the 'search' button (though I tried programming it and it doesn't work either).

I thought this might be a quirk with the software/drivers for some reason, so I uninstalled SetPoint then reinstalled it. After reinstalling I was able to get all the buttons to work, but after restarting my computer, those buttons no longer work. (I'm running Vista x64)

Why can't you make a decent mouse with a small reciever?

Currently you have two options when bying a Logitech mouse:

1) You can buy a decent mouse (e.g. MX revolution, MX1100) but then you will be stuck with a huge reciever

2) You can buy a mouse with a small reciever (e.g. VX Nano, V550) but the mouse will be crappy (not enough buttons) as well as small and uncomfortable (I could fit three VX Nano under my hand)

Why?

You might say that the first category is for normal PCs while the second category is geared for portable use with a notebook. But that doesn't even make sense. 60% of all new consumer computers sold are notebooks, which means that notebooks ARE the new normal PCs. Basically over half of the users would profit from the nano reciever and a lot of them would prefer a normal sized, feature rich mouse to go with it.

So why aren't you offering e.g. the MX1100 in a package with the nano reciever?

(An alternative would be to offer a nano reciever that is compatible with all recent Logitech mice. Hell, if the recievers were freely interchangeable between mice I would even by a MX1100 and a VX Nano just to be able to use the MX1100 with the Nano's reciever.)
